UPPER MACUNGIE: Safe Sitter course offered for teens

Upper Macungie Township, in partnership with Nanny Loft LLC., will offer a Safe Sitter one-day “The Essential” course 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 10 in the municipal building, 8330 Schantz Road, Breinigsville.
This course is designed to prepare students in grades six to 12 to be safe home alone or babysitting.
The per student fee includes a 60-minute introduction to CPR along with the safety, childcare, first aid and rescue and life and business skills.
Students will receive a cinch bag with manual, flashlight, Band-Aid kit, emergency notepad, snacks, and water.
Students need to provide their own lunch.

The Ladies Aid at St. John’s Lutheran, 1028 Church St., Fogelsville, is accepting orders until March 8 for a pizza kit fundraiser.
Charlie K’s Pizza at the Allentown Fairgrounds will supply the pizza kits.
Each kit includes three pizza crusts, one pint of sauce, and cheese packets.
Pickup is 3-6 p.m. March 24 or after worship on March 26.

The Busy Bees of St John’s UCC, 1027 Church St., Fogelsville, is having a hoagie sale in March.
Choose either ham or Italian with or without onions.
Hoagie orders are due by March 5. Pickup is March 15.

Church members will be cooking a light dinner and watching an episode of “The Chosen” every Thursday at 6 p.m. in March.
Join them each week and engage in a brief discussion of the series.
Dates are March 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30.
They will also be having a free Easter Breakfast 8:30 a.m. April 9 followed by 10 a.m. worship.

Ziegels Union Church, 9990 Ziegels Church Road, Breinigsville, will prepare a chicken potpie dinner 4:30-7 p.m. March 11.
Meal includes chicken potpie, salad with hot bacon dressing, bread, applesauce and dessert.
Eat in or take out is available. All orders are due by March 4.
Payment is due by March 10. Pick up orders 5-7 p.m. March 11 or 8 a.m.-noon March 12.
All money raised will go to cover expenses for the summer picnics.
