Writing group to meet Feb. 25
Greater Lehigh Valley Writers’ Group will hold its monthly meeting 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 25.
The meeting is offered in a hybrid format - in-person at the Palmer branch of the Easton Library, 1 Weller Place, Palmer and online via Zoom.
Author, professional storyteller and workshop facilitator Judy England-McCarthy will give her presentation “The Communication Process” 11 a.m. to noon.
During the session, England-McCarthy will offer tips for improving one’s communication skills. No matter how much time you spend conversing with others there are some things that you do each time without even realizing it. It’s these same things which are important not only to communication skills but to effective writing. There is no fee for the morning program.
From 1:30 to 3 p.m., England-McCarthy will present “Do You Really Know What You’re Saying?” – a workshop exploring how seeing the world clearly helps with writing. Through some fun exercises, slides and stories attendees will learn to free up their thoughts, become more aware and begin to question how they see the world. From there, it is just a short leap to thinking out of the box, which will help participants’ writing flourish and grow in unexpected ways. The workshop is free for members. There is a cost for nonmembers.
All attendees must be 18 years or older.
