EHS Counseling Department to host career visits throughout March

Key Club will host its next meeting after school Feb. 22 in Cafeteria 1. The meeting will last approximately 30 minutes, allowing students without transportation to utilize the late bus. With questions, contact akaunitz@eastpennsd.org.
The Emmaus High School Theater Department will meet after school Feb. 23 in Room 201, hosting an improv session and general club meeting.
In preparation for the spring sports season, all student-athletes must submit physicals or recertification forms to the athletic department by Feb. 23. Parents may also submit forms to the main office between 7:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. weekdays. The season begins March 6. For full information, visit https://www.eastpennsd.org/athletics-activities/.
The East Penn School District International Fair will be held 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 25 at EHS. While admission is free for all community members, the event includes bake sales and fundraisers to benefit students of the World Language Department. Additional activities include food sampling, musical performances, crafts and more. With questions or concerns, contact jbabbitt@eastpennsd.org.
In preparation for the London, France and Italian Riviera trip which will take place in June 2024, students must sign up by Feb. 27 to qualify for the discount code. Contact sfraser@eastpennsd.org or wmontepeque@eastpennsd.org with questions.
To benefit the Class of 2026, all EHS freshmen are invited to participate in the Gertrude Hawk chocolate fundraiser, open now through Feb. 27. Information was distributed in all freshmen English classes, with proceeds benefiting the junior prom, senior ball and other grade-wide events. For additional information, freshmen may contact their English teachers.
For students interested in taking Child Development 2 or Child Development 3 during the following school year, applications are open now through March 3. Throughout the month of March, the EHS Counseling Department will host a series of career visits from various Lehigh Valley professionals, exposing students to multiple postsecondary pathways. A total of 17 speakers, including pharmacists and entrepreneurs, will each visit EHS during a given time slot. To sign up for a career visit, students may view the full schedule through Naviance. Should a student miss class to attend a career visit, they must notify their teacher beforehand.
To commemorate accomplished seniors from the Class of 2023, EPSD is accepting nominations for its Graduate Spotlight program. Selected seniors will be featured on the EPSD website and a social media campaign, highlighting their extracurricular, academic and leadership achievements.
