Zephyr Nation will host a prom fashion show Feb. 24. Doors open 6:30 p.m., and the show will begin 7 p.m.

In the case of bad weather, the date of the show will be Feb. 25.

Gockley Elementary School will celebrate Read Across America starting Feb. 27. Staff have planned some fun reading activities and dress-up days for students.

Calling all high school students! The Pennsylvania Department of Health is hosting an art contest with Healthy Community Lifespaces to create the cover for the state health improvement plan.

A Bands in the Round concert will be held 7 p.m. Feb. 28 in the Whitehall High School auditorium. The event is a great combination of all the students throughout Whitehall-Coplay School District who have been working hard all year and together share their talents.

The 2023 senior scholarship award applications have been posted on the WHS website under Whitehall High School/Counseling/Financial Aid and Scholarships/Scholarships.

All applications are due by March 1. Students should check the website frequently and the weekly update Sundays for new scholarships.

WCSD’s Night at the Phantoms game begins 4:05 p.m. March 12, with a youth jersey giveaway! The first 1,500 fans 14 and under will receive a free jersey.

Five dollars from each ticket sold will benefit Zephyr Pride Foundation. Get your tickets and come join the fun!

Free swim, for Whitehall and Coplay residents only, is continuing 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesdays through March 29 in the WHS natatorium. You must show your photo ID.

Kindergarten registration has begun for the 2023-24 school year. Parents of a child who will turn 5 before Sept. 1 can go to the WCSD website to start this process.

WHS students, do you have any extra textbooks, library books or painting supplies that were supposed to be handed in? Please return them to the main office, so staff can remove any obligations that you may owe.

The WHS Class of 1978 will be holding its 45-year reunion Sept. 16. Please share this information with any other classmates.

The lost and found in WCSD’s buildings is full. All items in the bin areas will be kept in the main office or other locations at schools until the first of every month. If the items are not claimed, they will either be donated to charity or disposed of after the first.

After-school tutoring is now open for WHS student sign-ups. Teachers and counselors have the QR code posted in the building, but you can also sign up for tutoring on the WHS website.
