The Parkland boys swimming team received strong efforts from several swimmers in defeating Liberty last Tuesday afternoon at Parkland High School, 103-81.
Colton Chung contributed to the Trojan cause with a victory in the 100-yard fly and third-place finish in the 200-yard IM. Teammate Gabriel Krizel earned two second-place finishes - in the 100-yard backstroke and the 200-yard individual medley - to help turn the Hurricanes into tropical storms.
Another swimmer responsible for the win was Dannik Khais, who finished second in the 100-yard freestyle and third in the 100-yard backstroke. Marcus Moreef is usually in the thick of things and this afternoon was no different. He took second in the 50-yard freestyle and third in the 100-yard freestyle.
Michael Toth and Blaine Christ each finished second in two races - Toth in the 500-yard freestyle and Christ in the 100-yard breaststroke. Diver Ryan Beltrame won the diving competition for the Trojans.
“My hope this season is that all members of our team are contributing members, working hard to attain the goals that they have set for themselves,” Parkland coach Allison McPeek said.
