Mae A. Kunkel, 82, of Orwigsburg, died on her birthday, Feb. 11, 2023, at home.

She and her husband, Richard A. Kunkel, were married nearly 60 years.

Born in Hamburg, she was a daughter of the late Arlan and Layla (Bailey) Shollenberger.

A 1959 graduate of Hamburg High School, she was a secretary for the Can Corporation, Blandon, for 24 years until her retirement.

She was a member of Jacob’s Church, New Tripoli.

In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.

The last of her siblings, she was predeceased by Gladys Arndt and David, Donald and LeRoy Shollenberger.

There will be a private graveside service on Jacob’s Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be sent to Jacob’s Church Memorial Fund, 8373 Kings Highway, New Tripoli, PA 18066.
