The Rev. Dennis L. Bushkofsky, 64, of Henryville, died Feb. 2, 2023. He was the husband of Linda Post Bushkofsky for 33 years.

Born in Oelwein, Iowa, he was a son of Marie (Kuper) and the late Ronald Bushkofsky.

He was a 1980 graduate of Luther College, Decorah, Iowa, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in music. He was a 1986 graduate of Lutheran Theological Seminary, Philadelphia, where he earned a Master of Divinity degree. He was an 1999 graduate of St. John’s University, Collegeville, Minn., where he earned a Master of Arts degree in liturgical studies.

He served Evangelical Lutheran Church in America congregations in Pennsylvania, Minnesota and Illinois. He held intentional interim assignments and guided congregations through pastoral transitions. He was an editor and writer of liturgical materials. He was an educator in the adult catechumenate movement. He was most recently at United Lutheran Church, Oak Park, Ill., for 10 years. He was active in the interfaith Community of Congregations serving Oak Park, River Forest and surrounding communities.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a daughter, Judy Jackson of Mesa, Ariz.; a son, Jayden Jackson of Henryville; two granddaughters, Jordyn Jackson and Alexandria Mauricio; and a brother, Duane of Dubuque, Iowa.
