Salisbury Township Police Department officials released the following concerning a threat involving a gun at Arts Academy Middle School, 1610 E. Emmaus Ave., Feb. 9:

“The Salisbury Township Police Department would like to inform the public regarding an alleged report of an active threat involving a gun at the Arts Academy Charter Middle School located at 1610 East Emmaus Avenue in Allentown.

“The Salisbury Township Police were dispatched and arrived in under a minute and confirmed that the threat was not credible. Police units remained on location and the investigation is continuing.”

Investigators determined no active threat at the time of the event.

The school is assisting the police department in the investigation, according to authorities.

“We will continue to update the community with any additional information that may come forward,” the news release adds.
