Joseph L. Demeter, 79, of Emmaus, died Feb. 7, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Lucille M. (Balascak) Demeter for 53 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Louis and Frances (Seislove) Demeter.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and served in Okinawa, Japan.

He was employed as an HVAC installer at Hannaberry HVAC.

He was a member of the Emmaus Citizens Fire Co. #2, where he was a member of its pool league.

He is survived by his wife; son, Joel; sister, Lisa and her husband, Leno Scarcia. He was predeceased by siblings, Linda Strain and Terry.
