The Parkland Garden Club ended activities for the year with its annual Christmas Party in December 2022, at Brookside Country Club with about 50 guests in attendance.
This was an opportunity for club members and friends to get together one last time before the year came to an end.
President Claire Kukielka welcomed everyone to the party and Chaplain Patti Molitoris offered the prayer.
The Lehigh Valley Harmonizers, a local men’s choral group, created a wonderful Christmas atmosphere with an excellent rendition of holiday songs.
Once again donations were collected for Meals on Wheels.
A total of $815 was collected with $200 of that coming from the garden club and the rest coming from individual party guests.
Members were also asked if they could bring a roll of wrapping paper to be given to a school in Allentown to help with their gift wrapping.
There was also an optional gift raffle exchange.
Kukielka gave Laurel Awards to Brenda Aubert, Evelyn Broad, Carol Nagle, Patti Molitoris, Donna Wagner, Helen Papathanasiou and Maria Dax.
The program “Insects in Winter” will be presented by Rick Mikula on Feb. 13 at Jordan Lutheran Church, Orefield.
The 24th annual Parkland Garden Tour “Time To Garden” will be on July 15.
