Six games ago, the Catty girls basketball team needed to win out to make the playoffs.
After rattling off five wins to get to their season finale, the girls lost to a very good Northwestern team, 50-21.
The girls started off strong, trailing just 11-8 after one quarter of play. Hailey Jenkins scored four points in the first frame to help keep the Roughs close. Kaylee Weidaw and Sophia Becker, both seniors, added buckets in the frame as well.
But the Tigers would pull away in the second quarter as all the Roughs could manage was a foul shot by Delaney Troxell while the Tigers put up 15 points to take a 26-9 advantage into halftime. The Tigers Paige Sevrain scored five points in the frame and finished with a game-high 13 points. Cara Thomas also scored 13 for the Tigers in the win, eight coming in the second half.
Troxell scored eight points to lead the way for Catty, seven in the second half including a three pointer. Jordan Soltis added a three pointer as well.
