Rose M. “Rosie” Kennedy, of Allentown, lost her courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on Jan. 31, 2023, with her eldest daughter by her side.

She was a daughter of the late Vincent and Rose Pernitsky.

She retired from Kraft Foods where she enjoyed working for many years and formed cherished friendships.

A devout member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Allentown, she adored her family and friends.

She will forever be remembered for her love of life, Zumba, and the Allentown St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Her optimism and kindness will never be forgotten, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her survivors include daughters Rachel Kennedy Holmes and Meghan Kennedy; sister Juliann Bortz; brother Vincent Perns; and son-in-law James Holmes.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Feb. 15 in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 1046 W. Cedar St., Allentown, where family and friends may pay their respects beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Interment will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
