Sheckler Elementary School’s Valentine’s Day party is scheduled for Feb. 14.

Catasauqua Area School District will be closed Feb. 17-20 for the Presidents Day holiday.
Students resume normal schedules Feb. 21.

Kindergarten registration is now open for the 2023-24 school year.
The student must be turning 5 years old before Sept. 1 and must live within CASD boundaries.
In-person registration will be March 10 and May 17, and the initial registration form must be completed first to sign up.

Looking ahead, there will be no school for students March 10. Teachers have a professional development day.

Another upcoming closure will be April 6-10 for spring break.

Yearbooks are now on sale through May 5. The fee is $20, and yearbooks will be shipped to the school and passed out at the end of the academic year.

Sheckler’s lost-and-found section is overflowing. Photos of the items have been posted to the school’s Facebook page, and parents/guardians are encouraged to take a look to see if any items belong to their child.
The lost and found can be found outside of the school’s front office.

Catasauqua Youth Athletic Association is looking for new baseball and softball players for grades K-4, or ages 5-15. There is a sign-up session 10 a.m.-noon Feb. 11 at Opportunity Field on Walnut Street in Catasauqua.
Fees include $130 for the first child, $70 for the second child and $50 for the third child and up. T-ball and Preps softball fees are $50 per child.
Deposit checks include $50 for fieldwork, $50 for the snack stand duties and $50 for the uniform. Deposit checks are only cashed if fieldwork and snack stand duties are not performed or if the uniform is not returned.

Spring soccer sign-ups are now available by visiting cattysoccer.org/register. The season is set to begin in April.
If players are returning from the fall program, a free spring payment method will be made available during checkout.
Volunteers are needed to assist with the program. Coaches, assistant coaches and a new board member are needed at this time.
