Kathleen Steinke, 76, of Macungie, died Feb. 2, 2023, in Lehigh Valley Hospital. She was the wife of the late Helmut Steinke. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Margaret (Kortvely) and Samuel Charnegie Sr.

She was a hairdresser and owned The Hair Loft in Emmaus since 1999.

She was a member of St. Paul’s U.C.C., Trexlertown.

She is survived by children, Denise M. Karll, of Macungie, Mark A. and his wife, Laura, of Macungie, Nathan H. and his wife, Beth, of Macungie, Erika M. and her fiancé, Michael Nailon, of Macungie; grandchildren, Vincent Salabsky, Leigha, Alesha; brothers, Samuel Charnegie Jr. and Charlie Charnegie; sisters, Rose Nyemscek and Melody Casey. She was predeceased by a sister, Sandra Hamm.

A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Feb. 8 in St. Peter’s Union Church, 7863 St. Peter’s Road, Macungie. Visitation 6 to 7 p.m. in the church. Arrangements were made by the Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus.
