EHS names student of the week

Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?

A. I am in 12th grade at Emmaus High School.

Q. Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. My mom’s name is Connie, my cat’s name is Alley and my dog’s name is Casey

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject is science especially biology because it has always been interesting to me which is one of the major reasons why I want to go into the medical field.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. My freshman year I received an academic excellence award for Algebra 2 and sophomore year I also received an academic excellence award for biology. I also was inducted into National Honor Society in my junior year and have received principal’s honor roll every year of high school.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities? How has being involved in these organizations impacted your high school experience?

A. I work in the dining room at Heather Glenn which is an assisted living facility. Working there has impacted my high school experience by giving me a responsibility and commitment to follow through with while seeing what it’s like to care for others which is what I plan to do after high school. Since sixth grade I have skied every winter at Blue Mountain which has allowed me to get outside with my friends while doing something I enjoy.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. My biggest challenge was sophomore year living through COVID-19. I love being around people and not being able to do that for long periods of time was a struggle for me, but it also allowed me to grow as a person independently and be OK with doing more on my own.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. After high school I plan on going to college through a 5-year accelerated program to become a physician assistant.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. I admire my mom because she is strong and independent and instilled the same values into me which made me become the person who I am today. She showed me that treating others how you want to be treated isn’t just a phrase people use; it is true and I think about it in every situation I am put in.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I want to be remembered as a person who worked hard to get where I wanted to be and as a person who tried to be nice and respect everyone.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. In a few months when we graduate everything will change and we will all be on our own new paths in life so end the year having fun while being respectful and treating everyone with kindness.
