Looking for a fun and engaging activity with friends? Why not become a Zoellner Arts Center volunteer usher! Volunteer on a show-to-show basis, mostly nights and weekends. Responsibilities include greeting patrons, scanning tickets, assisting patrons to their seats, and being trained on the center’s safety and evacuation protocols. The Gress Mt. Ranch in Orefield has 8-10 large piles of leaves at the end of its driveway that need to be moved and dispersed into a wooded area on their ranch. Rakes an wheelbarrows are available. A one-acre garden, called the Easton Urban Farm, supplies fresh produce, as well as flowers, each summer to underserved neighborhoods. Three times a week, they rely on volunteers to prepare rows, plant, weed, compost, water, pick and bundle and transport veggies to food pantries and senior centers in Easton. They are looking for volunteers who can commit to the same day/time every week. Clearances required. Orientation provided by The Easton Neighborhood Center Feb. 25. Work begins March 18. Wildlands Conservancy is looking for assistance in repainting and removing carpet from a cabin located at the Dorothy Rider Pool Sanctuary in Emmaus. This will be a multi-day opportunity, but they aren’t asking for any group to commit to all days. They have an urgent timeline to complete this project ASAP, so project dates are flexible.
