Tilghman St., Allentown, retires Jan. 31 after 33 years of ordained ministry; 28 of which with First Presbyterian Church of Allentown. A celebration was held following the Jan. 22 service. Emick received a proclamation from Allentown Mayor Matthew Tuerk and Councilwoman Candida Affa acknowledging Emick's many accomplishments and service within the community. In his message to the congregation, Emick said, “I cannot possibly express fully my deep appreciation and love for all of you and our congregation and for the privilege of serving as one of your pastors for the past 28 years. Thank you.” Emick's plans include working on his hobby of model trains.
