During the Jan. 19 Lower Macungie Township Board of Commissioners meeting, consideration to authorize a permanent easement with SLJ Reality Co. (Lutron) for a public road to the yard waste facility was approved. This is considered a piece to the Sauerkraut Road project.
The consideration for use of the Church Lane baseball field was approved for 2023 and 2024. The effort to extend this contract did not occur as suggested.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Green Light Go Grant Program is being considered for the traffic lights at Kressler Road/Hamilton Boulevard, Kressler Road/ Route 222 Bypass, Route 222 Bypass/Interstate 78. This would allow upgrades of the signals for this intersection.
An executive meeting was held for land acquisition and possible litigation. The next board of commissioners meeting will be 6 p.m. Feb. 2.
