LaRue Irene Eckroth, 85, of Emmaus, formerly of Greenawalds, died Jan. 20, 2023, in her home.

She was the wife of the late Edwin J. Eckroth.

Born April 15, 1937, in Egypt, Whitehall Township, she was the daughter of the late Frank P. and Irene I. (Baer) Guldner.

She was a clerical worker at the former Earl Lichtenwalner Insurance Agency, Allentown, before retiring.

Before that, she was a food service worker at Phoebe Home, Allentown, a candy-maker at Josh Early Candies, South Whitehall, and a teller at the former Egypt National Bank.

She was a member of UCC Greenawalds.

Her survivors include a son, the Rev. Michael L. Eckroth, of Allentown; siblings Henry Guldner of Philadelphia, Mae Moyer of Whitehall, Darlene Kreitz of Orefield, and Barbara Ringer of Ironton.

She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Crystal Lynn, and brothers, Richard and Ernest Guldner.

Her service will be private, at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
