Calvin F. Schaefer, 88, of Allentown, died Jan. 22, 2023, on Cedarbrook Rehabilitation and Senior Care, South Whitehall Township.

He and his wife, Marjorie E. (Reed) Schaefer, were married 61 years.

Born Aug. 5, 1934, in Orwigsburg, Schuylkill County, he was the son of the late Frederick E. and Ethel (Moyer) Schaefer.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era.

He was a sales manufacturer representative at the former Beil and Whitaker Inc., Reading, before retiring.

A member of Jordan United Church of Christ, South Whitehall, he formerly served the church consistory.

In addition to his loving wife, Marjorie; sons Steven F. Schaefer of Wexford, Michael S. Schaefer and his wife, Karen, of Wescosville; grandchildren Shannon, Megan, Madysen, Andrew and Amanda; great-grandchildren Jaxon, Owen and Elliana; and former daughter-in-law Diana L. (Smith) Schaefer of Mars.

He was predeceased by a sister, Carol M. Schaefer.
