The Catasauqua High School Debate Team will be hosting its second debate at CHS Feb. 9.

The team needs chairpersons and timekeepers to help run the debates in the classrooms. Chairpersons keep the debate running by reading a script to open the debate and call up the various debaters to the front. Timekeepers will keep track of speech and question times, giving cues to the debaters as to how much time they have left.

Those who help with debates are eligible for varsity C event hours and National Honor Society service hours. If you are interested in helping out, sign up outside Mr. Kiefer’s room, C124. Students can also stop by Mr. Kiefer’s room if they have any questions.

Reminder: Spring sports sign-ups are happening now. Any CHS student who is interested in participating in baseball, softball or track and field should complete the link in the email forwarded to them Jan. 12 through their school district email account.

The application deadline for Lehigh Career & Technical Institute’s animal sciences program for the 2023-24 academic year is Feb. 16.
