John F. Payonk Jr., 52, of Nazareth, died Jan. 19, 2023, at St. Luke’s Hospital-Anderson campus, Easton. He was the husband of Sherri Brown-Cozze Payonk for 13 years.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of John F. Sr. and the late Anna (Gratzer) Payonk.

He was a yard jockey for 30 years at Americold Logistics. He owned and operated Affordable Tree Stump Removal Company.

He was a member of The Holy Family Club, Nazareth. In his younger years, he volunteered for Laurel Fire Company, Whitehall.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sisters, Cynthia S. Frisch and Patricia A. Schuler with Barry, all of Whitehall; nieces and nephews, Tiffany James with Pete, Brian Frisch with Wendy, Stacey Cook and Brent Frisch; eight great-nieces and great-nephews; two stepchildren, Felicia Miele with Michael and Amanda Cozze; two stepgrandchildren, Brayden and Maddalena; aunts; uncles; and cousins.

There will be a visitation 10 a.m.-noon, followed by noon services, Feb. 4 at the funeral home, 220 Washington Park, Nazareth, 18064. Attendees are asked to wear motorcycle gear or to dress casually.
