Joan F. Mikula, 89, formerly of Catasauqua, died Jan. 26, 2023, at Bethlehem Manor. She was the wife of the late John J. Mikula for 57 years.
Born in Jeddo, she was a daughter of the late James and Mary (Corra) Clarke.
She was a member of St. John Fisher Catholic Church, North Catasauqua, where she sang in the choir.
She received an associate degree in library science from Northampton Community College.
She received her X-ray technician’s license and worked for many years as an X-ray technician. She was later a librarian for Lehigh Valley Hospital. Earlier, she was a librarian for the Public Library of Catasauqua.
She was a member of the Catasauqua Women’s Club and the Catasauqua Bicentennial Committee.
She is survived by a daughter, Jean and her husband John Kutchera; a son, James and his wife Rose; a sister, Georgia Brown; five grandchildren, Kyle, Megan, Sara, James and Joanne; nieces; and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Tom; three brothers, James, William and John; and a sister, Mary.
There will be a calling time 10:30-11 a.m., followed by a memorial Mass 11 a.m., both Feb. 4 at the church, 1229 Third St., North Catasauqua.
