Remember to check your child each morning and ensure he or she is feeling well before sending to school. Children should not be attending school within 24 hours of having a fever or an upset stomach. These policies help to control the spread of illness.
WCSD appreciates everyone’s cooperation in this matter.

There is a direct connection between academic success and regular attendance in school. Consistency and sticking to a daily routine are important to ensure your student gets the most out of school. However, your child, at some point, will have a need to be absent from school. In order to avoid unexcused absences, submit a valid absence excuse within three days of an absence.
The easiest and most secure way to do this is online. On the day your child is absent from school, an email will be sent with a clickable link, which will allow a parent/guardian to submit an excuse and link any relevant medical notes. This will also provide a receipt of the excuse for your own records.
Keep in mind, in accordance board policy No. 204, absences excused by a parent/guardian are limited to eight per semester (16 total per year).

WCSD is looking to gather input from the Whitehall-Coplay community to create a profile of a graduate. This process will be a collaborative effort and will culminate in a profile outlining the skills, competencies and character traits WHS graduates will utilize to achieve future success.
This profile will serve as the vision, or guiding light, for WCSD decision making as it pertains to student learning experiences. Consider providing your opinion of what skills and competencies WHS graduates should have in place by the time they walk across the commencement stage.
Visit WHS’ website and follow the link to share your input.
