CMS News: Congratulations, honored students

Congratulations to the Catasauqua Middle School January Roughie of the Month students - Kathryn Tomasic, fifth grade; Austin Reilly, sixth grade; Evan Delong, seventh grade; and Mical Coronado De La Cruz, eighth grade.

The CMS parent teacher forum is holding a Gertrude Hawk fundraiser Feb. 2-27. Students should have brought home their information packets.

Estimated delivery is the week of March 27.

There is a class meeting set for Feb. 7.

The CMS valentine dance is scheduled for 6:30-8:30 p.m. Feb. 10. There is a small cost for the dance.

Students must have their CMS picture ID. Students who misplaced their ID should inform their homeroom teacher to get a new one made.

The CMS Souper Bowl of Caring food drive ends Feb. 10. Consider donating nonperishable food items to help the less fortunate.

Check expiration dates. Bring items in plastic, cans or boxes - no glass.

Additionally, the homeroom that brings in the most items will win a pizza party.

CMS students are encouraged to sign up for Catasauqua Youth Athletic Association’s baseball and softball season for ages 5-15.

Sign-ups will be held 10 a.m.-noon Feb. 4 and 11 and 6:30-8 p.m. Feb. 8 at Opportunity Field on Walnut Street.
