Despite losing 2 games to St. Paul’s 9-1 and 5-4, winning the opener 3-2, Dryland remains in first place. Leading hitters for St. Paul’s were Mark Heffelfinger 7-9, Rich Kern 6-14, Kevin Gross also 6-14, and Tom Unger with a HR. Butch Silfies and Dave Crouthamel went 4-11 each with a HR from Jim Goldman for Dryland.
Star of Bethlehem lost the nightcap 5-4 after winning the first 2 games 9-3 and 6-5 in16 innings to Emmanuel. For Star of Bethlehem Bryan Frankenfield was 9-16, Scott Hoffert 8-16 with HRs from Tyler Frankenfield and Walt Hoffert. Judy Hoffert was 7-15 (HR), Chuck Achenzie 7-17, Bob Bast 6-16, with HRs from Jon Rice (2) and Troy Haydt for Emmanuel.
After a 3-0 loss to Farmersville, Christ UCC came back to win 6-1 and 3-1. Top hitters included Jason Matula, Kevin Biechy and George Gasper all hitting HRs for Christ UCC, while Sue Grim was 5-11 and Wade Chilmonik 4-9 for Farmersville.
Ebenezer swept Light of Christ by scores of 3-2, 3-1, and 5-1. Leading the way for Ebenezer were Jim Voortman 6-11, Carol Voortman 6-012, Joe Kish 4-12, Scott Blevins 3-7 (2 HRs) and Joey Blevins with a HR. For Light of Christ, the only hitters were Todd Jones 2-5 and ‘Buzz’ Heidecker 2-8. Game 2 was decided by Jim Voortman, scoring 2 runs without a hit. He hit a balk to score the first run then hit the sacrifice bunt to score the second run.

With 5-4 and 4-3 wins over Ebenezer losing the nightcap 6-2, Dryland maintains first place. Hitters for Dryland included Earl Sigley 6-13, Shawn Sigley 5-12, Larry Golick 4-10 and Butch Silfies 4-12. Paul Yoder was 8-14, Joey Blevins 4-11, Joe Kish 4-12 with HRs from Jim Voortman, Scott Blevins, Zane Blevins, and Charlie Costanzo for Ebenezer.
After losing the opener 4-3 to Star of Bethlehem, Christ UCC came back to win 8-1 and 5-3. Leading the way for Christ UCC were Garry Hunsicker 7-14, Sue Gasper 5-10, Dave Shaver 5-10, with George Gasper and Keith Laudenslager each hitting a HR. For Star of Bethlehem Kyle Taylor was 5-11, Walt Hoffert 5-12 and Austin Hoffert with a HR.
In the only sweep of the night we find St. Paul’s beating Emmanuel by scores of 3-1, 3-1, and 4-3. Top hitters included Alan Antry 4-11 and Jennifer Erkinger 4-12 for St. Paul’s, while Jon Rice was 5_12, Chuck Achenzie also 5-12, and Bob Bast 4-12 for Emmanuel.
The final match of the night saw Light of Christ sandwiching 3-2 and 8-1 wins around a 6-3 loss to Farmersville. Leading the Light of Christ hitters was Norm Schoenberger 5-12 (HR), Eric Harper 5-13, Terry Knauss 5-14 with HRs from Chuck Crisaft and Charlie Mann. For Farmersville, Sue Grim was 7-11, Tom George 6-11, and Wade Chilmonik 5-10.
