Wildlands offers educational programs

Wildlands Conservancy, 3701 Orchid Place, Emmaus, will be offering the following educational programs for February.

·Feb. 1: You and Me Love Birds, 9:30-11 a.m. at Dorothy Rider Pool Wildlife Sanctuary, 3701 Orchid Place, Emmaus, for children aged 3-5 and their adults.

·Feb. 3: Wildlife of the Watershed: Meet Our Mammals, 6-7 p.m. at Dorothy Rider Pool Wildlife Sanctuary, 3701 Orchid Place, Emmaus, for all ages, meeting indoors.

·Feb. 4: Wild in the Parks! Winter Wildlife Walk, 11 a.m. to noon at South Mountain Reservoir Park, South 10th St., Allentown, for adults and children ages 6 and up.

·Feb. 4: Winter Exploration Snowshoe Walk at Louise Moore Park, 1-2:30 p.m. at Louise Moore Park, 151 Country Club Road, Easton, for adults and children ages 5 and up.

Snowshoes (including for ages 5 and older) and training will be provided.

·Feb. 10: Homeschool Nature Co-op- Quest for Survival: Feathered and Scaled, 10 a.m. to noon at Dorothy Rider Pool Wildlife Sanctuary, 3701 Orchid Place, Emmaus, for homeschool students in grades K-5.

·Feb, 11: Get Out for Wellness: PA Highlands Trail at Veterans’ Park, 10 a.m. to noon at Veterans’ Park, 145 E. Pumping Station Road, Quakertown, for all ages.

·Feb. 14: Pre-K Pathfinders TNP: Love Birders, 10-11 a.m. at Trexler Environmental Center, 4935 Orchard Road, Schnecksville, for 3-5 year olds and their adults.

·Feb. 14: Snowshoe Stroll with Your Sweetheart, 6-8 p.m. at Dorothy Rider Pool Wildlife Sanctuary, 3701 Orchid Place, Emmaus. Snowshoes and s’mores will be provided.

·Feb. 18: Great Backyard Bird Count 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Dorothy Rider Pool Wildlife Sanctuary, 3701 Orchid Place, Emmaus.

Birdwatchers of all ages, join the Lehigh Valley Audubon Society and Wildlands Conservancy at the sixth annual GBBC event.

·Feb. 18: Winter Exploration Snowshoe Hike at Trexler Nature Preserve, 1-3 p.m. at Trexler Environmental Center, 4935 Orchard Road, Schnecksville.

Equipment and instruction provided including snowshoes for ages 5 to adult.

·Feb. 19: Get Out for Wellness: Hidden Lake 1-3 p.m. at Hidden Lake, Hidden Lake Drive, East Stroudsburg; hike is appropriate for all ages.

Snowshoes will be provided if necessary.

·Feb. 24: Homeschool Nature Co-op- Quest for Survival: Rooted and Furry, 10 a.m. to noon at Dorothy Rider Pool Wildlife Sanctuary, 3701 Orchid Place, Emmaus, for homeschool students in grades K-5.

·Feb. 25: Winter Exploration Snowshoe Walk at Wayne Grube Park 1- 2:30 p.m. at Wayne Grube Park, 1200 Willowbrook Road, Northampton.

Equipment and instruction provided, including snowshoes for ages 5 through adult.
