Thomas B. May, 78, of Salisbury Township, died Jan. 20, 2023, in Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Catherine A. (Reed) May with whom he shared 39 years of marriage. Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Zigmund and Helen (Klimovitch) May.
He was a graduate of Hanover High School, received a bachelor’s degree in history and education from King’s College and his master’s degree in education from Lehigh University.
He was employed as a history teacher at Catasauqua Middle School for more than 30 years where he was also the JV football coach for 15 years.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Allentown.
He had a lifelong love of hunting and traveled across North America. He especially loved hunting in West Virginia. He also was an avid fly fisherman who enjoyed tying his own flies.
He and his wife loved traveling and did so extensively throughout the Caribbean.
He is survived by his wife; sister, Patricia H. Shupp, of Pittsford, N.Y.; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Selina Downey.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Jan. 26 at the Stephens Funeral Home, Inc., 274 N. Krocks Road, Allentown. Calling hours are 9 until 10:30 a.m. Jan. 26.
