Terroristic threats

A resident of Rolling Green Drive, Lower Macungie Township, was threatened and intimidated by people outside the United States, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Oct. 15, 2022. Authorities said the intimidation and threats were done in an attempt to get money from the Lower Macungie Township resident.

Theft

Someone took a wallet from a shopper, of New Tripoli, while the person was at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. Nov. 28, 2022, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The contents of the wallet included a Pennsylvania driver’s license, two Visa credit cards, a MasterCard credit card, two department store credit cards and $10 cash.

Shoes were removed from a storage area at Urban Air trampoline and adventure park, 6900 Hamilton Blvd., Suite 150, Lower Macungie Township, Nov. 26, 2022, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A resident of the 1600 block of Spring Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, told authorities $300 was taken from him, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Dec. 9, 2022.

A recycling bin was removed from a location in the 1800 block of Wind Hill Road, Lower Milford Township, between 9 p.m. Dec. 16 and 9 a.m. Dec. 17, 2022, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

DUI

A 37-year-old female, of Macungie, was taken into custody for allegedly driving under the influence after state police arrived at Wawa gas station and convenience store, 3321 Route 100, Lower Macungie Township, 2:15 p.m. Dec. 13, 2022, to check on a person asleep at the gas pumps, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A 30-year-old male, of Topton, was allegedly driving under the influence in the unit block of North Broom Street, Emmaus borough, 2:51 a.m. Dec. 11, 2022, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A 34-year-old male, of Allentown, was allegedly driving under the influence at the intersection of South Seventh Street and Bank Street, Emmaus borough, 10:54 p.m. Dec. 8, 2022, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A 36-year-old male, of Alburtis, was placed under arrest for allegedly driving under the influence at the intersection of U.S. Route 222 and North Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, 3:43 a.m. Nov. 6, 2022, after troopers responded to his location for a call to assist a motorist who was out of gas, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Accidents

A sport utility vehicle caught fire after striking a hay bale in a one-vehicle accident in the southbound lane of Limeport Pike, Lower Milford Township, near the 6800 block of Chestnut Hill Road, 5:53 p.m. Nov. 13, 2022, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Neither the motorist nor his passenger were hurt. The vehicle was towed from the crash scene.

Three people escaped injury when a sport utility vehicle rolled off an embankment and hit another vehicle at the intersection of Lower Macungie Road and South Cedar Crest Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, 2:12 p.m. Oct. 5, 2022, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. A motorist, of Macungie, was behind a vehicle traveling east in the right lane, which was slowing to a stop, when he lost control while trying to slow down. The vehicle went off the road, struck a tree stump on an embankment and rolled onto its driver’s side, striking the second vehicle. The drivers and a passenger were unhurt in the crash. Yocum Towing also responded.

A Breinigsville motorist escaped injury when her vehicle hit a bridge on Spring Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 3:38 p.m. Sept. 5, 2022, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The driver was eastbound and attempting to turn left onto Trexlertown Road when she lost control of her vehicle and crashed into the bridge. The driver complained of a headache after the crash but refused treatment by EMS crews, according to authorities. Stew’s Towing also responded.

A Macungie motorist and her 5-year-old passenger were hurt when their vehicle was struck by a Freightliner truck on Chestnut Street/Pennsylvania Route 29 in Upper Milford Township, 12:07 p.m. Aug. 9, 2022, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The truck was traveling south on Route 29, approaching the intersection with Pennsylvania Route 100, when the vehicle made a left turn from Route 100 eastbound where it was stopped and pulled directly in front of the truck, according to authorities. The truck attempted to stop but was unable to do so and the other vehicle was pushed off the road, according to authorities. Macungie Ambulance Corps personnel also responded. The driver of the truck was not injured.

An Orefield motorist was hurt when her van flipped in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. Route 222 and North Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, 10:23 a.m. Nov. 12, 2022, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. Authorities describe the crash as follows: A motorist from Pocono Lake was traveling eastbound on U.S. Route 222 in the southernmost express lane and attempted to make a left turn onto North Krocks Road, traveling through six cross lanes of travel and striking the van. The impact caused the van to flip one complete revolution and land upright on all four tires. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Lower Macungie Township Fire Department, Macungie Ambulance and Stew’s Tire Center also responded. The Orefield driver declined ambulance transport, according to authorities.

An Allentown motorist was hurt in a two-vehicle crash with a motorist who did not have a valid driver’s license, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The vehicles collided at the intersection of Kressler Road and U.S. Route 222 North, Lower Macungie Township, 6:21 p.m. Nov. 13, 2022. The Allentown driver described having pain in both ankles, his neck and his head to first responders. The Allentown motorist was northbound on U.S. Route 222 in the left lane when the other vehicle, traveling southbound, attempted to turn onto Kressler Road in front of the northbound vehicle. The operator of the southbound car was not hurt and allegedly admitted to not having a valid driver’s license at the scene, according to authorities. His passengers sustained minor injuries. The Allentown motorist was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest campus, by Macungie Ambulance. Yocum’s Towing and Recovery also responded.

Harassment

A 36-year-old male, of Walnutport, allegedly brandished a pocket knife and threatened to cut another person during a confrontation at a location on Covenant Court, Lower Macungie Township, Jan. 1, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

A 27-year-old male, of Wescosville, allegedly pushed another person into a wall after an argument at a location on Bogie Avenue, Lower Macungie Township, 11:32 p.m. Dec. 31, 2022, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.

Identity theft

A resident of Hanover Drive, Lower Macungie Township, discovered items ordered on their account without their permission, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Dec. 8, 2022. The transactions were canceled and all account information was changed.

A resident of Shuler Street, Lower Macungie Township, discovered his personal information was used to attempt to get unemployment benefits, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Dec. 27, 2022.

A resident of Eldemere Circle, Lower Macungie Township, discovered a fraudulent Verizon account was opened and a iPhone, valued at $999.99, was purchased, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Dec. 16, 2022.

Retail theft

Three women worked together to allegedly remove fragrances valued at approximately $1,250 from Nordstrom Rack, 750 N. Krocks Road, Suite 303, Lower Macungie Township, between 10:30 and 11:54 a.m. Dec. 17, 2022, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The women allegedly left the area in a silver sport utility vehicle.
