Six EHS journalism students to attend state-level competition

To run an improv session, the Emmaus High School Theater Department has rescheduled its Jan. 12 meeting to 2:30-3:15 p.m. Jan. 26 in Room 201, the Black Box.

In support of the National Alliance on Mental Health, Aevidum Club will sell T-shirts during all lunch periods Jan. 27 outside the cafeteria doors. T-shirts will benefit the club’s mission of generating mental health awareness.
January’s Principal Advisory meeting will be held 11 a.m. to noon Jan. 27 in the multimedia room. Those selected to attend have been contacted via school email and are advised to arrive with a list of school-related discussion topics. To attend future advisory meetings, all sign-ups will be sent via Schoology or school email.
With meetings on the first and third Thursdays of each month, Global Citizens Club will next meet 2:30-3:15 p.m. Feb. 2 in Room 230. With questions, contact tkita@eastpennsd.org.
The EHS Orchestra will hold its annual Coffee House fundraiser 7-9:30 p.m. Feb. 3 in Cafeteria 1, with a snow date of Feb. 24.
Interact Club is seeking volunteers for the annual SnowBlast Winter Arts Festival, a Feb. 4 event located in the Emmaus Triangle. Available volunteer roles involve setting up, manning and cleaning up community art projects. To join, visit the “Volunteer Event Sign-up” document located in Schoology. Congratulations to the following staff members of The Stinger, EHS’ student-run newspaper, for qualifying for the Pennsylvania School Press Association’s state-level journalism competition: Elizabeth Duerholz, Huy Huynh, Bek Lopez, Ogonna Nnodimele, Lauren Riazzi and Ayaan Shah. These students will advance to the final round of the competition in the spring.
In an effort to decrease lunch traffic, EHS has relocated the deli bar to Cafeteria 2, in addition to organizing new serving lines and menu options. To commend a student or staff member for their acts of kindness, EHS has reopened nominations for recognition certificates. Nominations may be made through a Google Form, which has been forwarded to all students via school email.
