Sabino Lawrence Basso Jr., 52, of Emmaus, died Jan. 19, 2023. Born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of Dr. and Mrs. Sabino L. Basso.

After receiving his bachelor’s degree, he opted for a quieter life in the suburbs; setting his sights on career, marriage and family.

Nostalgic and curious by nature, he loved vintage cars, classic music and other intellectual pursuits.

He was a sports lover and enjoyed ice hockey and baseball. Quick-witted and filled with imagination, he loved listening to radio broadcasts of the N.Y. Yankees.

His fatherly pursuits were his greatest achievement and source of pride. He cherished those moments with his sons shuttling them on and off the ice and sporting fields with cheers and encouragement.

His greatest legacy is his fine sons, Sabino III and Dominick.

He is survived by his sons; parents; siblings, Elisa, Peter, Nicholas, Christopher and Barbara.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Jan. 28 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1040 Flexer Ave., Allentown, 18103. A viewing will be held 9 to 10:15 a.m. Jan. 28 at the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus.
