Lawrence J. Williams, 81, of North Catasauqua, died Jan. 18, 2023. He was the husband of Frances A. (Baus) Williams for 55 years.

Born in North Catasauqua, he was a son of the late Robert W. and Irene (Potak) Williams.

He was a 1959 graduate of Catasauqua High School.

He was in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban missile crisis.

He worked for Allen Laundry, Allentown. He worked for more than 30 years in the weldment department of Bethlehem Steel. He was a school bus driver for Whitehall-Coplay School District for many years.

He was a member of St. John Fisher Catholic Church, North Catasauqua.

He was active with Catasauqua’s youth athletic programs. He coached softball, baseball and knee-hi football and supported the youth wrestling program for many years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Matthew and fiancee Michelle Hinkle; a daughter, Amy Dailey and husband Sean; a brother, Robert Williams and wife Diane; five grandchildren, Bryan, Madison, Jessica, Cole and Seth; three great-grandchildren, Rylee, Oliver and Cooper; two nieces, Kym Williams and Sherri Mitchell; two nephews, Joseph and Scott Albright; and many cousins.

There will be a calling hour 9:30-10:30 a.m. Jan. 28 at the funeral home, 234 Walnut St., Catasauqua, followed by a memorial Mass 11 a.m. at the church, 1229 Third St., North Catasauqua.
