James E. Flemming
James E. Flemming, 81, of Germansville, died peacefully on Jan. 18, 2023, in his home.
He and his wife, Linda A. (Koch) Flemming, celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary in December 2022.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Robert Flemming and Charlotte (Burchill) Flemming Martin and stepson of the late Arthur Martin.
A 1959 graduate of Allentown High School, he was a U.S. Navy veteran.
A banker for Merchants Bank, he retired in 1996.
He was a member of four Masonic lodges; a founding member of three and a past master of two and an active member of numerous appendant and invitational Masonic orders.
Past president of the Board of the Allentown Masonic Temple Association, he recently received the Meritorious Service Award for Pennsylvania Council of Deliberation, Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite.
He traveled nationally and internationally for the fraternity and was well loved throughout the world of Freemasonry.
He also was a co-founder and member of the Rural Preservation Association of Northwestern Lehigh County. An avid reader, in past years he enjoyed traveling abroad with his wife.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Robin (Charles) Volkert and Ronda (Junior) Rosado; son Todd Flemming; stepdaughter Melissa (Karl) Rentzheimer; stepson Mark (Kris) Hamm; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and brother Robert (Susan) Flemming.
He was predeceased by a sister Joyce Collins.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the memorial fund of the Masonic Temple Association of Allentown, 1524 Linden St., Allentown, PA 18102.
