Ferne F. Rock, 100, of Palmerton, formerly of South Whitehall Township, died Jan. 17, 2023, in The Palmerton, assisted living community.

She was the wife of the late Albert B.C. Rock Sr.

Born in South Whitehall, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Christianna (Scherer) Christman.

She was a member of Jordan Lutheran Church, Orefield, where she served as a Sunday School helper for 28 years and sang with the choir.

She worked for the government during WWII at the Charleston, S.C., Port of Embarkation.

Before retiring, she worked 26 years for the Parkland School District as a head cook at the former Troxell Jr. High School.

Her survivors include sons Albert B.C. Jr., and his wife, Elizabeth, of Walnutport, James T. Sr. and his wife, Mary, of Germansville, and Harry M., and his wife, Irene, of Walnutport; five grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a brother Alex; and sisters Sarah, Anna and Margaret.

Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
