Gary L. Briggs, 77, of Bethlehem, died Jan. 13, 2023. Born in Fountain Hill, he was a son of the late William and Arlene (Erb) Briggs. He was the husband of Mary Ann (Brancadora) Briggs for 51 years.
He was a 1963 Liberty High School graduate.
He attended Northampton County Community College.
He was in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He was a member of the City of Bethlehem Fire Department, from which he retired as an assistant chief after 27 years of service. He was a mobile unit attendant for 20 years at Miller Keystone Blood Center.
He was a member of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church.
He was an Eagle Scout, a blood donor, and a mentor.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Christina Marie Schiffer, Lisa Marie Briggs and wife Lori Gross and Teresa Rose Hughes and husband Ernest Hughes Jr.; and five grandchildren, Jared, Jason, Olivia, Elaina and Ernie III.
