Trocki honored

Seniors Catie McGrath and Tyra Wingle along with junior Maddie Trocki set a program record with three DeSales University field hockey players being named NFHCA All-Region in the same year.

This marks the fifth straight season that a Bulldog has been named All-Region and the first time three players have been selected. Previously DeSales had two honored in 2017 and 2019. Both Wingle and McGrath earn First-Team honors marking just the third and fourth players in team history to earn First-Team All-Region honors, while Trocki was named to the Second-Team.

McGrath is making her second appearance on the All-Region Team after earning Second-Team honors as a freshman in 2019. She was named All-MAC Freedom First-Team and the MAC Freedom Defensive Player of the Year this season finishing the year with eight goals and five assists for 21 points, while leading the team defense as a defensive midfielder.

Wingle is also making her second appearance on the All-Region Team after earning Second-Team honors last season in 2021. She was named All-MAC Freedom First-Team and the MAC Freedom Offensive Player of the Year this year. Wingle tallied a school-record 20 goals and three assists for 43 points for the Bulldogs.

Trocki is making her first appearance on the All-Region team after earning All-MAC Freedom First-Team honors this season. She finished the year ranked second on the team in scoring with 11 goals and a team-high 12 assists for 34 points.
