Murray D. Oliphant, 80, of Allentown, died Jan. 13, 2023, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

He was the husband of the late Lynda A. (Mylymuk) Oliphant.

Born in Tamaqua, he was the son of the late Murray and Gertrud (Femerling) Oliphant.

He was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Trexlertown.

Before retiring, he worked at Bethlehem Steel as a crane operator and in the press forge.

He was a member of Breinigsville VFW Post 8282, Good Will Fire Co., Trexlertown, and the Rural Sportsmen’s Association, Breinigsville.

A Marine veteran, he will be remembered for his love of martial arts, fishing, cooking and playing solitaire.

His survivors include close friends Brenda, Chris, Broc and Kerianne Pollinger; son Timothy S.; grandchildren; brother Keith; and extended family and friends.

He was predeceased by a daughter Jennifer Lynn.

Services with military honors will be 11 a.m. Jan. 19 at Schmoyer Funeral Home, 8926 Brookdale Road, Breinigsville. Calling will begin 10 a.m.
