Flood takes oath of office

State Rep. Ann Flood, R-138th, recently took the oath of office in Harrisburg and was sworn in to serve her second term.

“I’m grateful to once again have this opportunity and excited to get to work for the wonderful people of Northampton County,” Flood said. “There isn’t a lot of time to celebrate because we have some important issues facing our commonwealth that require our immediate attention.”

Flood said she is committed to fighting for free and fair elections and to providing the most vulnerable citizens with relief as inflation continues to rise. She said she also is focused on adopting policies aimed at controlling the cost of health care to make it more affordable, while also expanding access to mental health services.

Before joining the state Legislature, Flood built a foundation from the ground up to enhance the quality of life for brain-injured children and offer support for their families. She started Lauren’s Hope Foundation in 2008 in loving memory of her daughter, Lauren, who was only 4 years old when she died in 2007 as the result of a brain injury sustained at birth.

Flood’s prior experience isn’t confined solely to health issues. She has also been active in promoting the economic health of the region by serving as the president of the board of directors of the Greater Bath Area Chamber of Commerce since 2017. Additionally, she serves on the board of directors for Nazareth Mutual Insurance Company.
