SALISBURY TOWNSHIP PLANNING COMMISSION Beck, Schreiter, Klocek re-elected

The Salisbury Township Planning Commission re-elected its officers at the planners’ first meeting of the new year.
Re-elected unanimously by the seven-member panel were Charles Beck, 2nd Ward; chair; Richard Schreiter, 4th Ward, vice-chair and Jessica Klocek, 1st Ward, secretary.
The planning commission members include: Jimmy Brown, 5th Ward; Frank Frankenfield, 4th Ward; John Barbaz, 1st Ward and Richard Hassick, 1st Ward.
The planning commission meets 7 p.m. the fourth Wednesday of the month with a few exceptions.
The November 2023 meeting will be held 7 p.m. Nov. 29, the fifth Wednesday of the month, because of the Thanksgiving Day holiday.
The December 2023 meeting will be held Jan. 3, 2024, because the December meeting would occur during the holiday week.
The December 2022 meeting was held Jan. 4 because the Dec. 29, 2022, meeting would have been held during the holiday week.
Salisbury Township Planning and Zoning Officer Kerry Rabold announced that henceforth at planning commission meetings plans will be viewed on two video screens in the meeting room. Paper copies of plans will be available.
“We’re trying to go paperless,” Rabold told planners, adding, “We’re going to start putting plans on the screens.”
Those submitting plans to the planning commission will be requested to provide PDF files of the plans.
At meetings, images of plans can be enlarged on the video screens.
Plans will be emailed to planners in advance of meetings.
“Can we bring our own laptops?” Frankenfield asked.
“Yes,” Rabold replied.
Planners voted 7-0, on a motion by Klocek, seconded by Schreiter, to table the lot consolidation project (No. 22-0430), submitted by Humberto Pintor, which proposes to consolidate 1525, 1527, 1529, 1531, 1533, 1535 and 1537 Roosevelt Ave. into one residential lot. The property is in the R4, Medium Density Residential zoning district.
Planners voted 7-0, on a motion by Klocek, seconded by Frankenfield, to table the land development project (No. 22-0046) at 2844 S. Pike Ave. submitted by Thomas P. Williams Jr., which proposes to maintain two building additions, an accessory apartment and all supporting site improvements. The property is in the C2, Neighborhood Commercial zoning district.
The Salisbury Township Planning Commission next meets 7 p.m. Jan. 25 in the meeting room of the township municipal building, 2900 S. Pike Ave.
The Salisbury Township Zoning Hearing Board next meets 7 p.m. Jan. 11 in the municipal building meeting room.
The agenda includes:
- Appeal No. 22-0236 for 3655 Salisbury Hills Drive by Lea Jancic and James F. Stoner, who request dimensional variance relief from §27-403.4.E(3)(a) to maintain the fence along Devonshire Road (3-foot, open-style metal fence permitted; 4-foot, open-style, metal fence constructed). The residential property is on a corner in the R1 Rural Residential zoning district.
- Appeal No. 22-0382 for 1786 Savercool Ave. by Robert and Sharon Adams, who request dimensional variance relief from §27-403.4.E(3)(a) and §27-306 to maintain the 6-foot, privacy style fence and shed along Kern Street (25-foot setback for fence and 13-foot setback for shed required; 0.5 foot setback for fence and 2-1/2 foot setback for shed provided). The residential property is on a corner in the R4 Medium Density Residential zoning district.
The Salisbury Township Board of Commissioners meets 7 p.m. Jan. 12 in the meeting room of the municipal building.
