John “Butch” W. Stevens, 75, of Northampton, died Jan. 4, 2023, in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Perma L. (Green) Stevens for 54 years.

Born in Moore Township, he was a son of the late John William and Sarah Beatrice (Burnett) Stevens.

He was a 1965 graduate of Northampton High School.

He was in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War era.

He was a crane operator and shop steward at the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation for 35 years. He was a truck driver for Bradenburg, then Cap Glass.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Michael T. of Northampton; a daughter, Michelle Stevens Easton of Schnecksville; two grandchildren, Emily and Evan Easton, both of Schnecksville; a sister, Ginger Silfies with Edward of Danielsville; a sister-in-law, Ruby Stevens of Clinton, S.C.; nieces; and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth Stevens.
