It’s going to be a jam packed week of action for Bethlehem Catholic on the hardwood, as the Hawks face a three-game slate of contests this week.
Coming off last week’s 51-43 defeat to Liberty, Becahi (8-4) snapped a six-game winning streak in the process, but look to start another streak when they opened up this week’s games against Nazareth (4-7) on Tuesday.
Head coach Scott McClary knows the Liberty loss was a tough pill to swallow, but looks at the benefits it can provide for his team heading down the stretch.
“Always tough to lose a big game like that,” McClary said. “But in losses, it helps us to examine at a deeper level where we need to improve. Offensive execution against pressure is right at the top of the list.
“Now that we are 10 games in, I can name just about everyone that has been asked to enter a game for us. It seems to be different guys on different nights. That is good in that we can develop better depth, but we need a greater level of consistency from our players as the season progresses on.”
Outside of Tuesday’s game, Becahi will host Dieruff (3-8) on Friday night followed by a none-league contest against Ridley Saturday at home.
This week will mark the start of two straight weeks where the Hawks will play a trio of games, which is something that McClary will need to manage with the extra toll of contests.
“Always looks tough when looking through my lens,” he said. “We have back to back three game weeks, plus our guys start mid year exams at the end of this week into all of next week. That is a lot on their plates and will need to be managed carefully.”
