Ethan “Budd” B. Rice, 95, of Fellowship Community Villa and longtime resident of Fullerton, died Jan. 4, 2023. He was the husband of the late Joan (Schlecht) Rice for 65 years.

He grew up in Bethlehem and was a son of Charles and Neta (Miller) Rice.

He was in the U.S. Army’s occupation and rehabilitation forces in Japan after World War II.

He was an auto mechanic, mostly at Key Pontiac, Bethlehem, where he was named a Master Service Craftsman by Pontiac Motor Division. He retired in 1992.

He was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whitehall.

His scroll saw creations won the Mae R. Kutz Award for handcrafts grand champion at the 2001 Great Allentown Fair.

He is survived by two nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Franklin and Bertram; and three sisters, Pauline (Whitehead), Octavia (Sensenbach) and Gloria (Fitch).
