The Falcons went into the holiday break with a 53-46 loss to Moravian Academy recently. Jairo Suarez scored a season-high 10 points and Jake Zellin finished with eight for Salisbury. The loss dropped the Falcons to 1-4 in the Colonial League and 1-6 overall this season, while the Lions are now 2-4 in the league and 4-4 overall.
Moravian was able to hold Salisbury’s top scorers Thomas Lovelidge and Jack Foley, who both average 8.3 points per game, in check. Lovelidge finished with four points while Foley scored just two in the loss. With the Lions keeping an eye on Lovelidge and Foley, Suarez took advantage of the situation and hit on two three-pointers to keep the game close.
Salisbury has lost five straight since beating Catasauqua back on Dec. 6 to open their Colonial League schedule. Salisbury’s post New Year’s Day schedule has games at Northern Lehigh (0-5, 0-8) and Notre Dame Green Pond (2-1, 6-2) before they play their next home game on Jan. 9 against Pen Argyl (2-4, 2-6).
