Falcon swim teams sweep Huskies

The Salisbury swim teams competed in a few swim meets last month.

In a contest against Dieruff on Dec. 22, the Falcons swept the Huskies as the boys team pulled out a one-point win, 46-45, and the Falcon girls won 78-14.

In a meet against Blue Mountain on Dec. 14, the Eagles earned the sweep but exact team scores were not reported to the Press.

Jackson Kramp and Cameron Kubinsky both had big days in the win over Dieruff, as they won two individual events and were part of two winning relays. Kramp won the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke, while Kubinsky won the individual medley and 100 breaststroke. Both swimmers were part of first-place finishes in the 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay.

Noah Kichline (100 freestyle, two relays) and Gavin Berger (50 freestyle, two relays) also picked up one individual win and two relay wins at the meet.

In the girls meet, Salisbury’s Ella DeFazio won two individual events (50 freestyle, 100 breaststroke) and was part of two winning relays. Phoebe Ballek won the 200 freestyle and swam on two winning relays. Olivia Amorim won the 500 freestyle and was on two winning relays. Allie Beckage (100 freestyle) also won an event and swam on two victorious relay teams. Amelia Soyer won the 100 backstroke and was part of one winning relay team.

Macy Newman took first place in the 100 butterfly.

Against Blue Mountain, which is perennially one of the top teams in District 11, Salisbury pulled out two individual wins in the girls meet as Ballek (500 freestyle) and DeFazio (100 breaststroke) earned first-place finishes.

In the boys meet, Blue Mountain won every event.
