Potts Doggie Shop, 2428 Cherryville Road, Northampton, will hold Joey’s Day 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Jan. 8.

All proceeds from this event will directly benefit Joey Groller through the Marie Mazziotta-Alexander Cancer Fund. Joey is a Whitehall High School sophomore who is battling acute myeloid leukemia.

Northampton AARP Chapter 3915 will meet Jan. 11 at Northampton Banquet and Event Center, 1601 Laubach Ave. Doors open 11 a.m.

Members must show their national and local membership cards as they enter. They are also asked to bring a favorite cake, cupcakes or cookies to share with the group.

Information on bus trips will be on display.

Those interested in becoming members are welcome to attend.

Note that if Northampton Area School District is closed or has a late start due to weather, AARP will not meet.

Weekly bingo is held Mondays at Northampton Banquet and Event Center.

Doors open 5:30 p.m., and games begin 7 p.m.

Northampton Borough is accepting contributions for a memorial plaque that will be placed at the municipal pool. This plaque will feature names of former pool employees who have died.

All contributions and names can be submitted to the borough office, 1401 Laubach Ave.
