Northampton Area Public Library: Clubs set to meet

Monthly clubs for students in grades 3-5 continue meeting.

The Book Club will meet 6 p.m. Jan. 5 to discuss “Ghosts” by Raina Telgemeier.

The Game Club will meet 6 p.m. Jan. 12.

The STEAM Craft Club will be doing snowflake salt painting 6 p.m. Jan. 19.

It’s time for a winter reading challenge. Teens and adults can grab a bookmark at the help desk beginning Jan. 9. Once completed, return your bookmark for a small prize.

You can fill out more bookmarks through March 11. All completed bookmarks will be entered into a raffle for a $25 Visa gift card. There will be two winners - one adult and one teen.

Local author Stephanie Raphun will be doing a special storytime 11 a.m. Jan. 9 to read her book “My Brother Is a Superhero.”

Our regular storytimes will resume the week of Jan. 15. See the website for further details.

Stitch and Chat is set for 6 p.m. Jan. 10. Bring your needlework, cross stitch, crochet, knitting or anything else involving needles and thread.

The library will be closed Jan. 16 in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Consider taking time to volunteer in our community to further his good work in community development and unity.

The teen Game Club will meet 6 p.m. Jan. 17. Come participate in a variety of video and tabletop games.

There will be new kids’ craft bags Jan. 17.

The teen do-it-yourself body butter kit pickup begins Jan. 23.

The teen Book Club will meet 6 p.m. Jan. 24. Register to vote for titles and gain access to the Discord server.

Pickup begins Jan. 30 for a special kids’ cookie cutter bird feeder kit.

Due to supply limits, registration is required. There is a limit of two kits per family.

An Hour to Kill is now Once Upon a Crime. Join us 6 p.m. Jan. 30 to discuss kidnappings.

The Well Read, Badly Behaved Book Club will meet 6:30 p.m. Jan. 31 to discuss Christina Lauren’s “In a Holidaze.”

The Laid Back Book Club is reading Clare Mackintosh’s “The Last Party.”
