Larry R. Dieter Sr., 84, of Whitehall, died at home Dec. 26, 2022. He was the husband of the late Gail (Woodring) Dieter.
Born in Catasauqua, he was a son of the late Harold A. and Miriam F. (Millen) Dieter.
He was a 1956 Whitehall High School graduate.
He was in the U.S. Army.
He worked for Phoenix Forging Company for many years and for Dunbar Security. He was a self-employed machinist and tool sharpener.
He was a member of the former St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Catasauqua.
He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Iron Ship Builders, Blacksmiths, Forgers and Helpers, AFL-CIO, CFL.
He is survived by a daughter, Pamela Duff and husband David of South Whitehall Township; a grandson, Corey Edelman; a grandson-in-law, Christopher Nemesch; a daughter, Donna Bhagat and husband Hemant of Zionsville and their three children, Jesse, Evan and Jaya; a son, Larry Jr. of Whitehall; a daughter, Lisa Dieter of Allentown and her daughter Arianna; two great-grandchildren, Bentley and Aubriella Nemesch; and a brother, Daniel Dieter of Whitehall.
He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Mikaela Jones.
There will be a visitation 10 a.m., followed by a service 11 a.m., Jan. 6 at the funeral home, 444 Pershing Blvd., Whitehall, 18052.
