Elizabeth “Betty” R. Laubach, 97, formerly of Cherryville, died Dec. 21, 2022, at Sacred Heart Assisted Living, Northampton. She was the wife of the late William N. Laubach.

Born in Northampton, she was a daughter of the late Eli and Esther (Sheckler) Nause-Cawthern.

She was a 1943 graduate of Northampton High School. She attended Cedar Crest College, Allentown, where she was a member of the alumnae association and the auxiliary board of directors. She earned a teaching certificate at Kutztown University.

She was a third-grade elementary teacher at the Washington building, Northampton Area School District. She retired in 1986 after more than 30 years of service.

She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Northampton.

She was a member and soloist of the Bach Choir, Bethlehem, for more than 30 years. She sang on several choirs and choruses throughout the Lehigh Valley and beyond.

She is survived by a daughter, Connie and her husband Gary Nagy of Cherryville; a son, Richard Laubach and wife Harriet Jaffe of West Allentown; four grandchildren, Jendy, Richard, Jesse and Yuri; and three great-grandchildren.
