Deborah H. Paul
Deborah H. Paul, 72, of Emmaus, died Dec. 17, 2022. She was the wife of William A. Paul. They recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Ernest G. and Helen M. (Weidner) Schaffer.
She worked as a secretary for the bus company in Allentown, then as a homemaker. She then worked at Jamesway, Trexlertown, occasionally at Nana’s Nook & Cranny, Zionsville, CVS Pharmacy, Emmaus and retired from AAA East Penn, Allentown.
She was a longtime member of Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Whitehall.
She loved chaperoning her kids’ class field trips, attending all school recitals, choirs, plays, parades and sporting events. She enjoyed gathering with family and friends. She was involved in her grandchildren’s lives. They called her “Marmie” after the mother in Little Women, which was one of her favorite books. She always thought of others, and was loving and caring. Making cookies, cranberry sauce and filling were a staple during the holidays. She loved to shop, read, go to the library, go to church, watch TV, nap and laugh.
She loved the color green and eating chocolate. She had a beautiful smile and cheerful disposition and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her husband; daughters, Rebecca M. Ward and Hollie A. and her husband Jonathan Litak; brothers, David Schaffer and Stoney Schaffer; sister, Denise Baltsar; grandchildren, C. Cooper V, Gabrielle and Kaitlyn Ward; nieces and nephews; godchildren; extended family and friends; grandcats. She was predeceased by a brother John Schaffer.

Her wishes were for no viewing or funeral. A Celebration of Life will be planned and announced at a later time. Arrangements were made by the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, Emmaus.
