Catasauqua motorist dies in a crash in Lower Macungie Township

A Catasauqua motorist was fatally injured in a single-vehicle crash on Light Horse Harry Road, Lower Macungie Township, on Christmas Day, according to Lehigh County Coroner’s Office and Forensics Center and Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville officials.

Dante M. Kaintz, 21, was pronounced dead at the crash scene 7:19 p.m. Dec. 25, 2022.

According to authorities, he was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

An autopsy revealed Kaintz’s death was due to multiple blunt force injuries and was ruled accidental, according to a news release from the coroner’s office.

In a news release, state police investigators detailed the crash as follows:

At about 6:31 p.m., the vehicle was northbound on Willow Lane at a left curve when the vehicle went across the southbound lane and struck a cement curb at the intersection of Willow Lane and John Fries Drive. The vehicle became airborne and hit a bush before traveling into the rear yard of a residence in the 2200 block of Light Horse Harry Road.

The vehicle then struck a tree at the rear of the yard, according to state police.

Macungie Ambulance Corps also responded to the accident scene.
